As Christians, we believe in the inherent dignity and humanity of all people. Everyone is a child of God. We stand with our siblings in Christ facing an unjust immigration system. As we continue our ministry with immigrants at Advent and with our partners, here are more organizations and initiatives providing direct assistance to immigrants that we’d encourage you to support.
Sanctuary DMV: offers accompaniment and rapid response to ICE raids in DC, Maryland and Virginia
Santa Fe Dreamers Project: provides free legal services to immigrants and opportunities to sponsor a trans asylum seeker.
Diversidad Sin Fronteras: is a grassroots collective of leadership, research, and trans activism interested in denouncing violations of rights against LGBTI refugees on the migration routes of North and Central America
Cedar Lane Unitarian in Bethesda: just created an apartment at their church to use for sanctuary
Florence Immigrant and Refugee Rights Project providing free legal and social services in Arizona
New Sanctuary Coalition: a large accompaniment program, legal services, and activism base in NYC
