What do you do at Advent: I am the volunteer management and recruitment Civic Corps member! During my service term at Advent, I am responsible for developing systems and protocols to further support volunteer recruitment/retention for the Advent Hunger Program. Essentially, I'm all about helping things run smoothly to serve more people within the community.
Why do you do what you do: Food accessibility has always been an interest of mine that I never really had the opportunity to explore. So I am incredibly excited to dedicate my time and effort to an initiative that works to help the community and to reach as many people as possible.
Why Advent: Advent as a church has always had a long history of being integrated with the community which I found very alluring. In addition to that, their mission to "provide food with dignity" resonated deeply with me and from what I can tell, this church houses a community of wonderful people who are dedicated to making it a welcoming home for those who need it. I am thrilled to be a part of that :)
Talk to me About: All things music and musical theatre, books, history, true crime, flowers/nature and baking. I absolutely love musicals(my favorite one is Hadestown!) and all things music so I am always open to recommendations and playlists! I love watching mini history lessons on youtube so you will hear about the Great Molasses Flood and other cool historical events.
When I am not at Advent: I'm absolutely obsessed with the American Museum of Natural History so you will find me there from time to time. You will probably find me baking, walking around NYC parks, reconnecting with nature or trying different cuisines around the city. My favorite at the moment is Thai food but I am open to trying new things!
