Memorials for Dorothy & Alicia

Dorothy Metzger, a longtime member and beloved leader of Advent, passed away from a heart attack on Sunday, September 3rd. She will be missed by many, but her life is certainly one to celebrate. As Kathy Carpenter put it, "She was feisty, full of life and of strong opinions, Lutheran to the core but open and tolerant to those of all faiths or none! An amazing presence." We are incredibly grateful for the faithful dedication Dorothy shared with our congregation over many decades.

Alicia Papaleo, 98 and a long-time member of Advent and life-long Puerto Rican Lutheran, died on August 24 after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, October 1 at 12:45 pm in the church sanctuary. Alicia is survived by her husband, Luis.
