Celebration Sunday: Light the Fire

  • Advent Lutheran Church 2504 Broadway New York, NY, 10025 United States (map)

Join us for a special Sunday of stories, worship, and intergenerational activities on September 17.

Both in church and in the world, most people are quite familiar with some of Jesus' most quoted words: "You are the light of the world." But how often do we consider how lights need an energy source? Are we any different?

Come explore and celebrate how you are being called to light your community, how you already are a light to others, and how this faith community at Advent can help fuel your passion, your sense of community, and your impact on the lives around you.

Together we’ll rediscover how this faith community can keep everyone’s flames burning bright.

We will infuse worship with stories of Advent members bringing hope, light, and change to their communities. Then you will have the opportunity to explore further in community with activities in the basement fellowship hall. Our activities will be active, intergenerational, fun, and seek to engage your sense of mission. All people in our community, children and adults, member and visitor, are invited to participate. Let's start the fall season with a big spark.

How to Participate

Come to worship at 9am or 11am, and join us after worship for an hour of intergenerational activities in the basement fellowship hall.

No RSVP necessary. Friends and visitors are absolutely welcome. Our activities are for people of all ages and abilities, so come one and all and join us in intentional community.
